From a published case to a useful conversation.

Dr. Austin Rees co-authored two case reports in the Journal of the Canadian Chiropractic Association in 2025. These plain-language resources explain what was observed, why it matters and what the reports cannot tell us.

What a case report can tell you

A case report describes the care of one person. It can help clinicians discuss a complex presentation and identify questions for future research. It cannot establish that a treatment caused an improvement or predict your outcome. Results may not be typical.

Complex knee injury and rehabilitation

One report describes staged rehabilitation following a multiligament knee injury with vascular involvement in a young football player. It illustrates the importance of surgical precautions and coordinated care, while incomplete later follow-up limits conclusions about long-term return to competition.

Elbow ligament injury: a case explained

The second report describes rehabilitation after injections for a partial elbow ligament injury in a professional football player. Multiple interventions, incomplete imaging access and missing injection details prevent conclusions about the effectiveness of any one treatment. The paper is not a recommendation for PRP or cell therapy and does not describe an injection service offered by Dr. Rees.
